First crush the peeled tomatoes and put them into a saucepan. Add all other ingredients except for the oregano and reduce mixture until all water has disappeared. Season to taste. Let the sauce cool down.

Add the oregano and spread the sauce on the Pitta or the Pirneli. There are a variety of tasteful toppings – we recommend prawns, salmon, aubergines, broccoli, ham, mushrooms and so on. Sprinkle grated cheese on the bread and put it into the oven.
